Find a service centre
Type a brand, product or both, then choose a place. Manual location always works; your position is only used if you ask, and never saved.
How results are ranked and labelled
Distance is a great-circle (straight-line) estimate between your chosen origin and the coordinates in the pack, with an uncertainty that adds the city-centre radius and the record’s stated precision. It is not road distance or travel time. Records without coordinates are listed after the rest with “no coordinates”.
Authorization is shown per brand: a dated source claim within the review policy, a stale claim, an expired claim, unknown, or independent. Nothing is ever labelled verified, because the browser cannot verify it.
No match versus no coverage
If the installed packs do not cover your city, PIN, brand or category, the finder says so and offers the brand’s own locator instead of showing far-away or invented results. If coverage exists but your filters exclude everything, it tells you which filter removed how many records.
Questions
Why does my real city show “no installed coverage”?
Because no installed pack covers it yet. The sample pack covers only fictional places (Demopur, Samplenagar, Specimen Bay). Use the brand locator link, or import a curated pack on the Offline packs page.
What happens when I use my current location?
We explain the purpose first. If you allow it, the browser gives a position that is used in memory for distance only, shown rounded, and discarded when you leave the page. Denying permission does not block manual search.
Can I call a sample centre?
No. Calling and website actions are disabled for synthetic records; their numbers are placeholders.
